The process engineer, will be responsible for leading all process safety tasks associated with the development of large-scale fuel cell power system test units and fuel cell product commercialization.

Will work closely with others to develop P&IDs, implement safety features into the control and safety systems, develop the safety case for the system / subsystems, and contribute to the certification of the fuel cell product.

Handle additional process safety activities include performing hazard analyses (HAZOPs), performing risk assessment, identifying safeguards required to meet tolerable risk, writing safety system functional requirements documents, developing safety strategies for systems / subsystems, and performing quantitative analyses (e.g., fault tree analyses) to demonstrate acceptable risk levels with the subsystem / system design.

Additional Preferred Education / Experience:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily troubleshooting, repair and maintenance (such as filter changes, belts, sheaves, compressors, motors, etc. of all types) of HVAC equipment found in commercial and industrial settings.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment, repairs or replaces low and high-pressure liquid lines.
  • Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of units and make necessary adjustments.
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils and blowers and checks motors and belt tensions.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
